Nada outdoors

What could possibly be better than Nada?
Nada outside, as usual the 5chw4r7z gets shown straight to a table, no waits.
Those stories I keep telling of the shootings at Walnut and 6th are paying off big time.
We hate to leave and eat as slow as we can, the food at Nada is incredible and so is the scenery, almost doesn't feel like we were sitting downtown.
I keep thinking, as we eat, I can actually taste individual waves of flavor wash through my mouth. If we had the $$ we'd eat there every night.

Star Gazer @AVSArt

Jason Brunson's art opening Star Gazer at AVSArt was a jammed packed affair last Friday, it was good to see that many people packed in there, Andrew and Jason should be happy with the turn out. If you spent anytime downtown or in OTR you're seen something by Jason, whether you realize it or not.
The "Soapbox" (its growing on me) is turning into something, once Boss Cox opens and with everything else going on this neighborhood is gonna rock!

when I wear my helmet....

when I wear my helmet....

So when most people see this they probably think its really funny, or don't see the humor in it at all. I thinks its funny on one level but on another level I feel total empathy with this person.
I used to be pretty wierd about food, and some people would say I still am. But even though I've come along way I still have my moments, some co-workers think its funny because I dig through the drawer looking for my "Tony the Tiger" spoon to eat cereal.
Just isn't the same without it.
Oh and pizza, I can only eat off my Mom's 45 year old hand-me-down plastic wedding gift plates.
(one of which exploded spectacularly one cold morning when I sat toast on it. but thats a story for another day, a story which would include me liking my toast pulled from the toaster a nano-second before it bursts into flame.)
I'm sure theres a couple other ones out there that I don't feel are odd but maybe Ms. 5chw4r7z would disagree.

Parker Flats Friday

We did a quick tour last week of our unit inParker Flats. Everything is looking good, can't wait to move in.

About that time of year again.

Back in the day, if you walked in here and there wasn't a penguin on your helmet, you were in for a long, cold miserable Saturday afternoon.
Remember that Air Mcnair guy?
He once spent 60 minutes on his back with big red jersey wearing defensemen laying on him.

Market on the Square

"You should swing by the market on Fountain Square" she said.
I thought that was on Tuesdays?
a pregnant pause, "IT IS Tuesday Bob"
DOH, all the driving has really took it out of me, not to mention I've been on vacation forever and have totally lost track of time.
I got these flowers for $5, score!

off to the zoo

Don't know why, but Cait was hell bent on taking the bus to the zoo. Cool, no driving for me but the Metro really cocked this one by running late. Ms 5chw4r7z. and Cass started getting impatient and were pushing to just drive. I keep preaching patience, and ten minutes later the bus finally showed up. Seemed longer than 10 minutes late in the sun.
YEAH Metro, making a good first impression.
Want to know how to attract more riders?
Run on time. works for the Japanese and French.

The zoo, could we have picked a better day? The weather has been absolutely perfect lately. Did all the zoo stuff and also saw the new giraffes.

Taza Mia downtown

Our summer long quest for a Saturday and occasional Sunday breakfast spot has finally come to a close. With the opening of Taza Mia downtown it fits all our critiria, walking distance, pastries and most importantly COFFEE!!
The place just feels like its been there forever and Bob, the barista and owner is just the friendliest person around.
And of course they serve Jean-François's Belgium waffles. Has Jean-François taken over the city yet? I think so, hes one step behind Jean-Robert.
I don't think Taza Mia will have any problems at all in this spot, no sir, they're gonna be printing money.
We saw a couple OTRians who had to of walked past the Coffee Emporium to get there, so obviously we aren't the only ones thinking this is the spot.
I'm almost dreading blogging this, if I can't find a spot to sit next Saturday, I'll be kicking myself.
